How Date Ideas uses optional analytics, stores cookie choices and will handle advertising or affiliate measurement if introduced.

This page explains how Date Ideas handles information when you use dateideas.co.uk. It is intended to be clear and practical; it is not legal advice.

Information you choose to provide

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message. We use it to reply, deal with corrections or manage an enquiry. Do not send sensitive personal information.

Essential browser storage

The site stores your cookie choice in your browser so that it can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. This is necessary to respect your preference. Planner filters are represented in the page URL when you generate or share a search; they are not stored in an account.

You can reopen Cookie choices at the bottom-right of any page. Clearing your browser storage will also clear the saved choice.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is disabled until you select Accept analytics. If accepted, it helps us understand which pages and planner features are useful. It may process information such as:

  • Pages viewed and broad interaction events.
  • Approximate location derived from network information.
  • Browser and device category.
  • Referring page and time spent on the site.

The site does not ask Analytics to store your name, email address or the free text of any message. You can reject analytics and still use the entire site. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Date Ideas does not currently load AdSense or other display-advertising code. If advertising is introduced, this page and the consent interface will be updated first. Advertising cookies will not be treated as accepted merely because analytics cookies were accepted. For UK, EEA and Swiss visitors, any future Google advertising integration will use an appropriate Google-certified consent management platform.

Some future outbound links may be affiliate links. An affiliate network or seller may record that you arrived from Date Ideas and may use its own cookies or tracking under its privacy terms. Commercial links will be labelled and you can read our affiliate disclosure.

Hosting and security logs

Our hosting provider may process technical request information, including IP address, user agent and request time, to deliver the site, maintain security and diagnose faults. These operational logs are separate from optional Google Analytics.

How long information is kept

We retain correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to answer the enquiry, handle follow-up or meet a legal obligation. Analytics retention is controlled in the Google Analytics property. We periodically review those settings and avoid retaining user-level data longer than needed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection concerning your personal information. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need enough information to verify and respond to the request.
